(Post 30) Planning- Props

The props we need:
- wooden bow and arrow
- piano
- floating lanterns
- bath
- car
- picture frame

Wooden bow and arrow

We like the idea of having a wooden bow and arrow as a prop for Herbie to use as a toy because it shows that despite things not being great at home he is still young and still has the imagination of any other child his age. It should be fairly simple to make so shouldn't be too time consuming. At the end of our music video we want it to be this bow and arrow that gives the audience the realisation of the connection between the boy in the video and the artist playing the piano.

Grand Piano 

Our song is a piece of piano music so therefore we want to have our performance aspect of our video of the 'artist' playing the piano. We want the piano to be in a big empty room with windows behind it and we know of a few places we could potentially go to film these scenes. We want to keep the room simple to make the audience focus on the main performance rather than be distracted.

Floating Lanterns

We want to use floating lanterns in our music video because we think that they will create a different lighting as we don't want to film all of it in the day time. They are cheap and affordable to buy and easy to use. However it does mean that we have a limited amount of opportunities to get the shots that we are trying to capture. We will buy a pack of them incase we don't get it on the first attempt.

Bath

We want a scene of the two sisters in the bath. We think we have found the bath we want to use for this scene however we are a bit worried about the lighting of this bathroom.

Car

We want a scene in a car in our music video with the oldest sibling driving it to show her playing the mothering role and driving her brother and sister to something more fun than their life at home. This prop might cause difficulty because we are going to struggle to find a car that looks vintage enough that we will be able to drive but we don't want anything too modern.

Picture frame

We want to hang a picture frame in the room with the grand piano and hand the old wooden bow and arrow. We'll make this a feature of the last scene to allow the audience to make the connection about who the pianist and the boy are and how they are connected.
